Correct targeting of data entry after changing windows

Sometimes when I'm using the Monologue dictation, it has some processing lag after I finish saying what I want to say. I'm already on my keyboard or on my mouse moving to another window, and when I do that, I can sometimes end up with the data in the wrong window or somewhere else rather than having been pasted or put into the window where I was when I triggered and started doing the dictation. I would like a way to make that so that it doesn't accidentally get put in the wrong spot.
