Hi Monologue team! I’m a big fan and am working on integrating Monologue more deeply into my daily workflow. The process would be much smoother if I could activate it by voice instead of relying on a keyboard shortcut—any chance that’s on your roadmap?Also, I’d love to see a purple theme option for customization. My dashboard stats are frequently very wrong. This is an example. Before using Monologue today (Tuesday), it the Monthly activity shows zero words, but in fact I used Monologue a good part of the day. You can see a couple of transcripts from Monday afternoon at the bottom.I'm not sure why, but I find this irritating even though it really doesn't matter in the overall scheme of things. Sometimes restarting Monologue updates the stats, but even then they're often wrong. It looks like the latest update broke Monologue's ability to paste text into Firefox. Instead, after recording, it says "Copied No active field".

I frequently find that after pressing my shortcut to start recording (double tap right option key), the recorder UI does not reflect what is being detected with the microphone. So whilst the recording works, it seems like it won’t. Typically after a few seconds it then starts to show the visual that is synced to the audio signal.

Just love Monologue but how to use punctuation in the dictation flow? Would love to be able to add some punctuation signs such as “:” or ask to move to another line. I mainly use it in French and English.Thanks in advance!

The app is being slow and buggy as of the past couple of days. First, the audio, which usually reacts when I'm speaking, takes quite some time to start reacting after I've started speaking. Also, when I stop the recording, it similarly is cutting off sometimes the first and/or last half sentence or so of what I've said.I also noticed that if I turn it on accidentally and cancel the transcription, sometimes it outputs nonsense even if I haven't said anything. Sometimes what it outputs are saved words in my dictionary. This is slowing down some of the efficiency gains I get from this app.Finally, it tells me that there is a software update I can download, but the update has not been signed correctly and can’t be installed.

I was expecting Monologue to transcribe as I speak, so that I can see the text right away. Instead, I only see a mode where I speak for a while, and only see the text when I’m done. This makes it unusable for longer texts. Am I missing something?

Hey there, Every team! I love Monologue (I say that as a Superwhisper user and Every subscriber currently giving Monologue a try), but the receiver widget is bulky and frankly ugly. It would be great if I could disable it completely from the settings menu and have the icon in the menu bar change to indicate recording mode (like adding some dot to the “M” or something).

Having this working on Windows devices and on an iOS app is probably the last thing that is stopping me from fully cancelling my WisprFlow subscription.I see that there’s already a <a target="" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="link" href="https://feedback.monologue.to/p/ios-app">Feature Request for an iOS app</a>, so was wondering if a Windows version is also on the roadmap.

Is there a setting to get Monologue to play some sort of notification tone when it starts recording? I have a two-monitor setup, and when I'm paying attention to the monitor that doesn't have the Monologue widget, or if I have things in full screen mode, I have no idea whether Monologue is actually recording or not. I'd rather not have to pay attention to the widget to know that it's capturing my voice.

I use multiple monitors (3 including the macbook display) and the monophone recording panel only shows up on the right-most display. I expect the panel to show on the active display when recording / active.

I do not know whether you have this or not. If it auto switches between online and offline (in case of poor internet), then that would be a great feature. Else a toggle would be useful.

Allow dictionaries and custom prompts to sync across devices when logged in, so prompts and dictionaries created on one machine are available on others. This would avoid manual duplication and make multi-device use more seamless.

I have my system input device, but I have a different input device that I want dictation software to use. Unfortunately, Monologue changes my system input to whatever I have set for my Monologue input device. This breaks every other app that uses my mic.Please don’t change the system input. Just quietly use whatever input I have set Monologue to use, and leave my system input alone.

Hi Team, Just sharing one feedback as I recently started using Monologue, I was earlier using Wisprflow. Monologue somehow feels slower in rendering the text once dictation audio is done, compared to Wisprflow - on same internet connection. I am not sure why but it feels slower a bit.

Every time Monologue pastes into Obsidian or Apple Notes after finalizing the transcription, it adds an extra space before pasting the text. After (letting ChatGPT do) some research, this seems to be an issue related to the macOS’s Smart Insert/Delete (Smart Copy/Paste) feature, which users cannot disable themselves within MacOS (I tried this in the edit menu and keyboard settings, but turning it off there didn’t solve it).Apparently this can be resolved if, instead of pasting of the transcript, with a “type out / simulate keystrokes” or “send text as keystrokes” mode in Monologue, like MacWhisper has, which bypasses Apple's built-in functionality that adds the extra space.For me, this bug is specific to Apple Notes and Obsidian for me, but it does not occur in ChatGPT or apps like Notion. Since it happens with every transcript, it quickly becomes quite annoying to remove manually.For people who need a solution for the time being, Obsidian has a Linter plugin that can remove leading and trailing spaces, so this is a temporary fix for the time being (or switch to Notion I guess?)

This has happened twice. As an example. I just recorded a relatively long monologue and when the app was done transcribing it pasted the previous item from my clipboard into the text field (in this case, an image).

Has anyone tried using the large model, I tried but I see an error that is cut off. Any tips on debugging or seeing the full error? Crash when setting up on macOS Sonoma 14.3

I had a 200 second audio clip (1.4mb) that repeatedly failed to transcribe with retries. I was able to run it on groq whisper model (not turbo) manually and get a transcription.

I added some words to the dictionary and now when I do a transcription the model will just include a list of them at the end of the transcription. I’ve deleted them for now until you guys have a chance to resolve this. Thanks for all your work on Monologue!
