iOS App Hijacks Focus After Dictation

Category: πŸ› Bug Report

Every second or third time I dictate on iOS, Monologue pulls me back to its own screen instead of staying in the app I'm dictating into. I have to manually switch back to the target app (e.g. Messages, Claude Code terminal, Notes) to continue.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open any app on iOS (Messages, Notes, etc.)

  2. Activate Monologue keyboard and dictate

  3. After dictation completes, stay in the target app and continue typing or tap the keyboard

  4. After 1-2 uses, Monologue's main app screen comes to the foreground

Expected: Monologue should stay in the background β€” I should never have to leave the app I'm working in.

Actual: The Monologue app itself takes focus, pulling me out of whatever I was doing. Happens frequently (every 2-3 dictations).

Device: iPhone and iPad, 26.4

Frequency: Very frequent β€” almost every session

Severity: High β€” breaks flow completely, which defeats the purpose of a dictation tool

Usage: Top 7.2% of users after 2 weeks β€” I use this constantly throughout the day
