Keyboard shortcut settings frustrating with non-Apple keyboards

I use a keychron keyboard on my mac. It does not have the control and option icons on the keys - so if I use those in setting my shortcut (which I did) - then forget my shortcut (which I did), going back to settings did not help. Please include the text of the key in addition to the icon.
