Microphone failed to start

I will be transcribing perfectly fine and I'll be using either my AirPods or the MacBook Pro microphone, and I will find that after working fine for a few minutes, sometimes it will fail to capture my audio and it will say mic failed to start. And this will persist no matter what microphone.
