Monologue audio is missing lots of captures while using MacBook Pro (M4) internal microphone

Monologue audio is missing lots of captures while using MacBook Pro (M4) internal microphone - making it unusable. Rebooting the MBP didn’t help.

Workaround: When I use AirPods Pro (2nd gen) the captures are close to perfect but here’s an example of the output:
